Lets talk about Vingcard for a bit....

It's too complicated!   This is the basic problem with this lock. The software, lock, engineering and back end is entirely too complicated. It is almost like Rube Goldberg designed this lock.

Vingcard made the best lock the Hotel market has ever seen in their 1050 mechanical. (Remember the plastic card with the holes in it?) The problem is that they tried to make their electronic locks work like their mechanical locks. IT DIDN"T WORK VERY WELL. Vingcard once garnered the majority of market share in the Hospitality industry. Not any longer. WELL, I should qualify that statement. They garner a major share because they are buying all the other companies. Remember Sargent??? Ving bought it and shut down the electronic division. They also own TIMELOX. Wonder how they managed to keep the Las Vegas market.... they bought another company.!

Their Customer service AFTER the sale leaves a lot to be desired.

Their 2100 series lock is complicated, the software is a nightmare, and the lock doesn't hold up to everyday use.

Look at the others, and save yourself a bunch of grief.

August 2006 - Write down this date, cause I am fixin to say something nice about Vingcard. ... OK, let me work up to it.... here goes.

Vingcard has issued a new upgraded 2100 reader that incorporates many of the clunky parts of the older models, into a "right smart" fully self container reader head!  GOOD WORK ! !  See you can do it right if you want to..

That said, I have not had the opportunity to speak to anyone at Vingcard regarding these latest changes.  It is VERY, VERY difficult for me to get any answers concerning anything from Vingcard.  So, if you work for Vingcard, and you would like me to change my opinion on your lock, then send me a sample that I can play with to test out your newest innovation.  I will keep an open mind!
